Everton Under-18s came from two goals behind to record a stunning 5-2 away victory over Stoke City. The win included four goals for midfielder Fraser Hornby, with the Scotland Under-19 international completing a perfect hat-trick then adding his and the young Blues’ fourth before Shayne Lavery sealed the win late on. The Toffees conceded twice inside the opening 20 minutes, but hit back almost instantly after the second as Hornby controlled Daniel Bramall’s cross and neatly dispatched into the bottom corner with a left-footed drive. Hornby netted his second of the contest in similar fashion, sweeping home a centre - this time with his right foot - to ensure parity at the half-time interval. Kevin Sheedy’s side were in the ascendancy and picked up where they left off after the break by taking the lead early in the second period. Bramall was again the provider, the winger’s free-kick was put into a dangerous area to allow Hornby to head home and complete a perfect hat-trick. Hornby then netted a fourth with a powerful low shot, before substitute Charlie Ball set up Lavery to convert the Blues’ fifth goal. Coach Sheedy said: “It was probably our best performance of the season so far. “After a slow start I thought the lads were outstanding - both individually and collectively. The result suggests we were dominant and that absolutely was the case.” Everton Under-18s: Renshaw, Morris, Lees, Feeney, Harrington, Bramall (Moore, 80), Kiersey, Baningime, Denny (Duke-McKenna, 85), Hornby (Ball, 82), Lavery. Unused substitutes: Pierce, Mampala. Everton FC
