This week’s Everton Show pays tribute to Gareth Barry on the eve of his landmark 600th Premier League appearance. The midfielder is set to join a group consisting of just two other names - Frank Lampard and Ryan Giggs - when he runs out against Middlesbrough on Saturday evening. Earlier this week, Seamus Coleman sat down to discuss the achievements of a player who has been his teammate at Goodison Park for the last three years. You can watch the full interview with the defender on Friday’s show, which airs on Bay TV at 7pm. As always, it will be available to watch on demand via the Club’s YouTube channel later on Friday evening. “It’s a massive achievement - but I’m not surprised because Gareth is a top professional,” Coleman explained. “If you ask any lads in the squad, they have massive respect for him. He commands respect from his fellow professionals. His performances week in week out are something else, and they have been since he signed here. He’s always wanting to get on the ball. We are lucky that he’s playing for us. “For me, Gaz is the same every game, he wants to get on the ball. On the rare occasion he might give it away once or twice, he is still always looking for the next pass, always available and wanting to help his teammates, whereas other players might go hiding. He’s great for the likes of Tom Davies - if you want someone to look up to, you don’t need to look any further than Gareth Barry.” Also on this week’s show, the Club’s most successful ever captain Kevin Ratcliffe goes back to Goodison Park to take a tour around the current-day facilities and explain how things have changed since his time with the Blues. Boss Ronald Koeman looks back at Monday night’s dramatic 3-0 win at Sunderland and ahead to Saturday’s visit of Middlesbrough, while viewers will also find out what hat-trick hero Romelu Lukaku had to say after the game at the Stadium of Light. New boy Enner Valencia sits down for his exclusive first interview since joining on loan on transfer deadline day and Liam Walsh reveals his joy at putting pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal. There’s also Under-23s reaction from David Unsworth after his side suffered their first defeat of the campaign on Tuesday and world champion boxer and massive Blue Tony Bellew was back at Goodison Park to pay his own tribute to 600-man Barry. Has certainly started the season well. But can't go on forever.
