Crystal Palace defender Pape Souaré has a broken thigh from his motorway car crash this week and could be out of action for six months, manager Alan Pardew said on Friday. Senegal international Souaré, 26, who joined the club in January 2015 from Lille, also suffered jaw injuries in the accident. “It was a terrible accident and we have a huge debt to the air ambulance and the terrific surgeons he’s had,” Pardew told a news conference. He’s in decent spirits and obviously the players and myself have been with him, and particularly our doctor, who’s been keeping our spirits up. “We hope he’ll be released from hospital on Saturday, and we think he’ll make a full recovery. In four, five, six months he should be up and running again.”

It has been a tough time as of late for Palace defender Papa Souare after he suffered a fractured jaw and thigh in a car accident just two weeks ago.
The accident took place on the M4 and the recovery time is reported to be at least six months, however Souare is choosing to remain focused on his goal of returning to action for the first team.
“It is with a deep feeling of gratefulness that I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all and everyone for their support in this tough time.
“Your prayers, messages, calls, pictures, banners and all other kind gestures are really touching and appreciated.
“It is keeping me going. I will come back stronger for you guys, for us.”
