Disappointing he's gone? He's only played a handful of games, Roberto, not like he's been integral to the team.

Yeah, lots and lots. To be fair, I'm not sure how much game time he'd get under Mourhino. I would have liked to have seen him get a run instead of McGeady.

Christian Atsu played 68 minutes as Ghana let a one-goal lead slip to lose 2-1 to Senegal in their Africa Cup of Nations opener. The on-loan winger started brightly, winning a penalty for the Black Stars which was converted by Andre Ayew to put Avram Grant's side ahead inside 15 minutes. Atsu then had two chances in quick succession to double the lead, but guided his first effort just wide before being denied excellently by Senegal goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul from close range. The Lions of Teranga were back on level terms just before the hour mark when Stoke City striker Mame Biram Diouf tapped home a rebound after watching his initial header cannon back off the post. Atsu was then replaced by Wakaso Mubarak 10 minutes later as Ghana looked to reinforce their midfield. But those attempts ultimately failed as Diouf turned provider for Moussa Sow, who powered home from the edge of the area to secure victory in the fourth minute of added time.

Ivory Coast 1-1 GuineaAn entertaining, slightly curious game that leaves both sides with satisfaction and regrets. Guinea were valiant and often slick; they scored a lovely goal and carried a threat throughout but will lament the fact that they could not score a second after Gervinho was sent off. Ivory Coast can congratulate themselves for their comeback - particularly as the equaliser was so good - but will face familiar accusations of failing to harness their full potential. A shrewd change by Herve Renard perhaps helped them improve after Gervinho’s dismissal. They will need to improve again if they are to get past Cameroon and Mali in their next games.
