Newcastle United and Everton have set their sights on a shock move for West Ham midfielder Mark Noble, according to talkSPORT. The 26-year-old has been one of the few positives in what has been a difficult season so far for the Hammers, and there is no doubt Sam Allardyce will be in no mood to sell. But Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is reportedly weighing up a January move for the man who he handed his senior Hammers debut in 2004. The fans favourite signed a new deal at Upton Park in the summer, and is in fact due a testimonial next year should he stay. Sam Allardyce will be desperate to keep Noble as he looks to build a squad capable of avoiding relegation from the Premier League this season. The Hammers currently sit in 17th place, just outside the drop zone and have managed just one win in their last eight Premier League games. Everton boss Roberto Martinez is also keen on the former England under-21 star as a possible replacement for Gareth Barry. Barry has been hugely impressive for the Toffees since signing on loan from Manchester City in the summer, but Noble has been identified as an alternative should they fail to sign the former Aston Villa captain on a permanent deal, with his wage demands seen as a concern.

He's a smart midfielder. Can you imagine having noble and cleverley in the same team. You'd have dennis wise in there too just for the hell of it. Any others?
