Oumar Niasse - A Lucky Cup Charm?Oumar Niasse wants to be Everton’s lucky cup charm as he eyes a Blues debut this weekend. The Senegalese striker won the Russian Cup at former club Lokomotiv Moscow last season.Everton face Bournemouth in the FA Cup fifth round this weekend an Niasse is already aiming high. He told evertontv: “I don’t know a lot about the FA Cup but I know you have to win or you are out - so we have to win. “When you are Everton you must every time think to win. Every time you play in a competition you have to make one more step higher than last year. “I am here to win and I don’t have time to wait. When we play against Bournemouth, we must think ‘win’.” The 25-year-old striker scored in the final of Locomotiv’s 3-1 win over Kuban Krasnodar last May, helping his side to a first trophy since 2007 (below). That experience means he’s bullish over Everton’s chances this season. “I believe,” he insisted. “Last year, in Russia, we had been eight or nine years without winning anything and in my first year we won the cup, so it’s a good sign. Maybe in my first year at Everton as well we can win something. “When you learn about the history of Everton you know you have to win something." Asked about his progress on the fitness front over the last two weeks, Niasse added: “I am much better than when I started here. "At the end of the week I will be fit to be involved - I don’t know how - but I am going to be fit to play. “I want the fans to see me and I am excited about being involved.” Everton FC

Bryan Oviedo - Boss' Experience Helping Cup BidBryan Oviedo believes Roberto Martinez’s experience of winning the FA Cup has helped Everton in this season's knockout competitions. The Blues boss lifted the trophy in 2013 when his Wigan Athletic side earned a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley. This season, Everton have reached the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup and will also contest a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday against Bournemouth. And Oviedo admits there is a strong desire within the Toffees' squad to ensure the season is remembered as a successful one. “We have a manager who has won the FA Cup and that definitely helps,” he said. “Joel Robles has won it too. The manager and the staff have experience of doing well in the cup competitions. "We need to work hard because if we stay together and support each other then we have a good chance of being in the final. “We now have to focus our attention on the FA Cup and Bournemouth. If we can win a couple of games then we will be at Wembley. “We want to win something. In the league we want to be challenging for the European positions and we also want to fight for the cups.” Oviedo added that the players are keen to finish the season strongly to give thanks for the support of Evertonians throughout the campaign. “Everton supporters are amazing,” he explained. “We really appreciate them and the support they give us as players. “We need to work harder for them, because we haven’t had the results that we have wanted sometimes. We have played well but not got the result and that is not good enough. “We normally have a lot of the ball and create chances and we have to keep doing that and things will change. A couple of wins and we can be higher in the league. “We want to work hard to be able to give the fans what they want – to be in the top spots in the league and to do well in the cup competitions.”
