Why Romelu Lukaku Needs to Grow Up and Stop Answering Chelsea Questions
Romelu Lukaku is not media savvy enough to state "No comment" when journalists bait him into conforming to the misconstrued narrative of being pushed out of Chelsea.
Lukaku needs to stop answering Chelsea questions since his outspokenness is unintentionally creating the false appearance of a rift between him and Blues' manager Jose Mourinho.
Lukaku has scored eight times in the Premier League this season on loan at Everton, three more goals than Demba Ba (two), Fernando Torres (one) and Samuel Eto'o (two) combined.
Every goal Lukaku scores heaps unfair criticism on Mourinho, who believes the 20-year-old Blues loanee has contributed to the misinformation of the club relinquishing Lukaku on loan for the second straight season.
"Romelu likes to speak," Mourinho said, via Miguel Delaney at ESPN FC. "Why do you never say why you are not here? It's something he should say, the reason why he's not with Chelsea and is in Everton."
Now everyone knows Mourinho did not want Lukaku loaned out.
According to Sky Sports, Romelu Lukaku informed Chelsea he wanted out after being the only player not to convert a penalty during the 2013 UEFA Super Cup loss to Bayern Munich:
Romelu Lukaku made a transfer request at Chelsea before being granted a temporary move to Everton.
His request was immediately rejected and a loan with Everton negotiated on September 2, transfer deadline day, with his season-long switch ending the prospect of Ba leaving Stamford Bridge on loan.
Mourinho, infamous for showing no mercy to players who dare to step out of line, could have reacted to Lukaku's transfer request by banishing him to the reserves indefinitely while saying: "I'm not the one fighting for a starting position at the 2014 FIFA World Cup."
Instead Mourinho showed compassion, found a middle ground with Lukaku and allowed him to leave to Everton on loan with no recall clause.
"I also hope Jose Mourinho and I are both at Chelsea for a long time, because I want the best for Chelsea and I know he is a good coach," Lukaku said, from Het Nieuwsblad via David Prentice at The Liverpool Echo.
Lukaku, if you want the best for Chelsea and Mourinho, say "No comment" when reporters try to lure you into making a rash comment about Chelsea or Mourinho that you will regret.

Is Romelu Lukaku Daniel Sturridge 2.0? No.
Sturridge was a Derby County fan due to his uncle Dean Sturridge, who played at the club from 1991-2001. Once Dean left Derby, Sturridge shifted his allegiance to Arsenal, per Hitesh Ratna at FourFourTwo.
Unlike Sturridge, Lukaku is a Chelsea fan.
This is a key difference that will affect his thought process regarding a permanent move away from Chelsea, rather than making a heat-of-the-moment decision after costing the club a UEFA Super Cup.
"It's a dream come true," Romelu Lukaku said when he completed his transfer to Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011, via Chelsea TV. "I've dreamed about it since I was 10 years old to play here."
He said Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's thunderous half-volley against Manchester United in 2000 was a vivid memory growing up as a Chelsea supporter.
"I don't care what Chelsea are doing at the moment," "I think sometimes about my parent club" and his ill-advised transfer request are just moments of angst in a highly ambitious 20-year-old, who is frustrated he has not become an instant star for Chelsea as he was under Ariel Jacobs at Anderlecht.
Chelsea management view Lukaku as their future No. 9, according to his current manager, Everton's Roberto Martinez.
"Every time I speak to Chelsea they rate Romelu really highly, and I think that's always been the case," Martinez said, via Paul Wilson at The Guardian. "They made a massive investment on a player they always felt was going to take a few years to be ready."
It wasn't Lukaku's time at Chelsea last season, it isn't his time this season, but next season it will be his time.
As a Chelsea supporter, you're hoping Lukaku wants to be to millions of young Chelsea fans around the world what Hasselbaink was to him.
