Barry Rues Timing Of Canaries EqualiserGareth Barry believes the timing of Norwich City’s goal knocked the wind out of Everton’s sails as the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road. The Toffees went into the half-time interval with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Romelu Lukaku’s 15th goal of the campaign, but the advantage could have been more. Arouna Kone was twice denied by Declan Rudd, Lukaku was unfortunate not to add to his tally, while Leighton Baines saw a right-footed half-volley cannon back off the post. And the Canaries made their visitors pay as Wes Hoolahan bundled the ball over the line for the equaliser with the second half barely two minutes old. “The mentality at half-time was to not dwell on the fact it was only 1-0 and just keep doing the same, creating chances but hopefully putting them away,” he explained. “But we knew the second half was going to be different and they were going to come out stronger. “I think to concede straight away [after half-time] was the most harmful thing. It changed the game slightly because it lifted them, they really had their tails up in the second half and made it difficult for us. “It was the old cliche of a game of two halves - and we were disappointed we were only 1-0 up at half-time. “We had a couple of chances in the second half where we could have put the game to bed but fair play to Norwich because they changed their gameplan and were better second half.” Barry reserved praise for Lukaku, who became the first Everton player to score in seven successive games in all competitions since Bob Latchford in 1975. He also broke Duncan Ferguson’s Club record by becoming the first to score in six consecutive Premier League games. But Barry says the Belgian was not getting carried away with his latest strike, insisting he, and the rest of the dressing room, were left frustrated at the Toffees’ were forced to settle for a point in East Anglia. “Rom’s form and the way he is improving season on season here is incredible,” added the 34-year-old midfielder. “If he can keep that going he is going to have a fantastic career. “But Rom - like the rest of the dressing room - won’t be celebrating the goal too much because we didn’t manage to get the three points.”

I quite like the Toffee telly thing. It's better than watching Coronation St.
