Roberto Martinez: Everton FC have thrown away six points in recent games“We need a bit of a ruthless attitude and mentality," says Blues bossFrustrated Blues boss Roberto Martinez admits his side has thrown away six points in their last three matches. After leading 2-0 and 3-2 at Bournemouth, then hitting the woodwork three times against Crystal Palace, Everton wasted a succession of chances in a dominant first half display at Norwich and drew their third match in a row. Martinez admitted his side has to develop a more ruthless streak. “We need a bit of a ruthless attitude and mentality which allows us to keep a clean sheet which would have been enough to get us three points,” he said. “I would swap any personal records just to keep a clean sheet. As a team we know we have incredible individuals - probably the best young players in European football, Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, John Stones, Gerard Deulofeu. "They are phenomenal talents and what we need to do is become a team who controls games and make sure we finish with a win rather than just performing well and dropping points in a very cruel manner, which is what has happened in the last three games. “We need to focus.” Everton led through Romelu Lukaku's seventh goal in successive matches, hit the woodwork again through Leighton Baines and saw Arouna Kone, Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu all miss chances. Then they conceded from a corner early in the second half and were forced to settle for a solitary point again. “I think in the second half we were heavily punished from a corner,” he added. “It shifted the match mentally an awful lot. “But I don't think the momentum shifted. We still created the better chances. “That's what happens in this league. You have to know how to manage games, you have to know how to defend your box well and we have been very unfortunate. I think luck plays a big part in the final result. “Our performances have been very consistent in the last three matches but we feel that we have dropped six points which is an incredible gap in the table. “But in the same way I am seeing the potential we have in the team. I will look through the scoreline and see the fantastic moments of football we showed in the first half and that's what we have to build on to become a top team.” Liv Echo

3 points from Bournemouth, Palace (Home) & Norwich is an absolute disgrace. You can sugar coat your nonsense all day but it's simply not good enough. Anyone who thinks it is should take a long hard look at themselves and decide does it really hurt when Everton don't win, because it should. It should knaw away at you down to your soul

Disgraceful 2nd half performance once again. I don't know what goes on at half time in the dressing room but it has to stop. These are very poor sides and we are unable to beat them. Shambolic again.
