Everton’s on-loan contingent were again in action for their respective clubs over the weekend. Starting in the Championship, Conor McAleny played the final half hour as Charlton lost 3-0 in their London derby against Brentford. The Bees, now under the guidance of former Blues midfielder Lee Carsley, were 2-0 up after goals from John Swift and Alan Judge by the time attacker McAleny rose from the bench. The defeat proved costly for Head Coach Guy Luzon, who was dismissed soon after. There was a better result for Luke Garbutt and Fulham as they came from 2-0 down to beat Reading 4-2 at Craven Cottage. A double from young French striker Moussa Dembele did the damage for the Whites, although Garbutt was left on the bench. In League One, Francisco Junior was not in the matchday squad as Wigan Athletic drew 1-1 at Bradford City. In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, goalkeeper Louis Gray played the full 90 minutes as Colwyn Bay suffered late heartbreak in their league meeting with Rushall Olympic. Despite going in front, Rushall struck back and won it in the final minutes, running out 2-1 winners. Defender James Graham, who recently joined Colwyn Bay on loan, was an unused substitute. Elsewhere, young Czech goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek sat out Hyde United’s 5-0 win over Ramsbottom United.
