Five Everton youngsters were in action for their loan clubs this mid-week. On Tuesday, Conor McAleny’s introduction at half-time in Charlton Athletic’s home match with Preston North End could not spark a revival as the Addicks - two-down at the break - lost 3-0 to their fellow Championship strugglers. In League One, Francisco Junior was not included in the matchday squad as Wigan Athletic defeated Peterborough 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at London Road. But goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek started for Hyde United in their 3-2 victory over fellow Evo-Stik League Northern Premier – Premier League side Marine. A day later, Luke Garbutt played the full 90 minutes and picked up a booking in Fulham’s 1-1 draw at home to Leeds United. Young French striker Moussa Dembele opened the scoring at Craven Cottage with a fine solo run and finish but United’s Chris Wood levelled with a second-half penalty. However, young duo Louis Gray and James Graham were on the wrong end of a late goal as Salford defeated Colwyn Bay 3-2. Defender Graham was making his debut, having joined the Seagulls on a month’s loan earlier this week.
