Everton loanee praised by his manager

Everton loanee Francisco Junior has received praise from his Wigan Athletic manager Gary Caldwell after returning to the pitch following 5 weeks out injured.

The midfielder came on for the 2-2 draw against Millwall and he will hope to have done enough to make the starting line-up for their next game against Walsall.

“Francisco did great when he came on. I just felt we needed more energy in midfield and to be a bit more penetrative with our passes forward and I thought he gave us that.

“He got us up the pitch quickly with the strikers and really got them on the back foot. At times in the first-half I felt we were too safe in possession but after half time we got at them quicker and got our goal.”
