Everton defender Brendan Galloway might not be sent out on loan after allEverton boss has hinted the defender could stay after being impressedEverton FC V Stoke City FC in the Barclays Asia Cup Roberto Martinez is prepared to shelve plans to send Brendan Galloway out on loan. The Everton boss has been so impressed with the 19-year-old defender that he has hinted he may not need to send Galloway into the Football League for experience as he was intending to do. Galloway started the final two games of the Premier League season at left-back and put in assured performances against West Ham United and Spurs. Martinez has promoted the former MK Dons player, and fellow defender Tyias Browning into the senior set-up this summer but had planned to send them both out on high-level loans. But the Catalan has revealed that he may now keep one of the youngsters at Goodison all season. “We are still looking for two positions, our squad is not complete, and we need to make sure they fit in exactly in our group as we expect,” Martinez explained. “We lost two centre-halves so we need to fill those gaps. I'm still assessing two of the young players we have in the squad. I have been very impressed in the last two weeks and I do feel that one of the two is ready to stay in the first-team. So maybe we need one new face in at centre-half and then, in another position, we will still be lightweight and will wait as long as we can to select the right person.” Galloway sat out Everton's friendly with Hearts on Sunday afternoon but is expected to face Dundee on Tuesday night at Dens Park. Martinez says the teenager is not carrying any serious injury but needed a rest. “He is suffering with growth spurts and the patella tendon is suffering a little bit,” Martinez said. “He is in a great moment, he did some individual work and I expect him to play on Tuesday. I think Brendan has done really well, the game against Stoke (in Singapore) he was fantastic and he has a great future in front of him.” Echo

Does anybody actually trust anything Martinez says?
Luke Garbutt has been sent on loan, so is it that Martinez wasn't impressed?
If Galloway is going to play week in week out, then keep him, but if he's going to sit on the bench every week then his development is going to be minimal. Martinez now speaks of him as a Centre Half, yet has only played him at Left Back.
We don't need another Left Back do we?

I was joking but you never know with RM. They're an odd lot, the Catalan's....did you know their traditional Nativity Scenes always include a small boy taking a dump in the background? Doesn't explain RM's behaviour though......
