And this week's prize for stating the bleedin' obvious goes to....... I sense that the Echo are pushing Everton for a Striker. Maybe they are finally getting behind the fans (unlikely) or maybe their own reporters are fans and starting to twitch, but I sense 'something' different from them.

Luke Garbutt hopes going out on loan this season can help him become an Everton regular in future. Blues boss Roberto Martinez last week stated his intention to find the 22-year-old a club where he can gain some valuable first-team experience this term, having signalled his faith in the defender by handing him a new five-year contract at the beginning of July. Garbutt admits he's excited at the prospect of extra game time and believes the experience will prove a major step forward in his development. The left-back, who has had previous loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Colchester United, exclusively told evertontv: "The manager has hinted that I'm going to go out on loan, so hopefully a successful campaign will help me get a lot more games under my belt to hopefully kick on next season with Everton. "I'm definitely looking forward to going out and getting that experience. At the end of the day it's about playing football and that's what I love to do. Getting out on loan and playing a few more games is hopefully going to benefit me in the long run." Asked what the key factor had been in his decision to pen a new deal with Toffees and extend his stay until the summer of 2020, Garbutt added: "It's a great club, the lads are great to be around and I want to be a part of the things I think Everton are going to achieve in the future."

Presuming Baines is going to be out for the start of the season, who will cover?
Oviedo is still out, so is it Galloway, and if so, shouldn't Galloway be going out on loan too?

Baines is meant to be back, at least that's what the manager said last week
