What's everyone's take on this, why have the club let him run down his contract?
Looks like Liverpool are favourites in getting him, which is even worse! hopefully the board will get their fingers out and offer the lad a new contract!

I didn't know about that. He looks like the perfect replacement for Baines and could be a future England international. I think we'll sign him up before someone else snatches him.

I would be gutted if we lose him He is very nearly the finished article already with loads of potential for our future.

Why would he sign a contract when Baines and Oviedo are ahead of him?
If we want to keep him, we need to offer him some assurances.
Oviedo is also a fine Right Back, so not too concerned regarding him going, but it would be a shame. as he is a future Right Back at International level.

It isn't just me, is it? There really is a complete lack of cohesion in the way Everton are handing out contracts to the over 30's and showing so little interest in their replacements. Barkley could be sold, Garbutt can just wander off somewhere (it would be a slap in the face if he crossed Stanley Park) and those two young keepers are going to be pissed off they didn't get a chance.
