Teams Announced :
Crystal Palace : Speroni; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare, Bolasie, McArthur, Jedinak (C), Zaha, Puncheon, Murray.
Subs : Hennessey, Hangeland, Sanogo, Ledley, Gayle, Kelly, Ameobi
Sunderland : Pantilimon, O’Shea, Vergini, Jones, van Aanholt, Cattermole, Gomez, Rodwell, Fletcher, Wickham, Defoe.
Subs : Bridcutt, Johnson, Reveillere, Graham, Coates, Mannone, Buckle
My feeling is that Pardew has selected Souare ahead of Kelly - who was excellent against Man City - because he presents more of a threat going forwards. Ledley gives way to Jedinak, which was always going to happen. Formation could be 4-5-1 or 4-3-3...probably both!

Jedinak is bloody rusty.....giving away possession with every touch. Odd shape with Bolasie wide right, Zaha inside forward and Punch on the right at the moment.

HALF TIME: 0-0
Souare off injured, Kelly on, which is quite simply an upgrade. Had slightly the better of a pretty poor first half. Sunderland are lucky to have 11 on the pitch after Rowell's two footed airborne tackle. Lots of stoppages, lots of fouls but not as many as the ref seemed to think. Dann booked going for a 50-50 for instance. Sunderland are practicing the noble art of man marking to good effect but I get the feeling it'll be the pressing which both sides are doing that'll lead to the mistake(s) which produce goals. If Palace score first I can see Sunderland getting rattled and they've been collecting yellows like savings stamps. If Sunderland get the first one then it's going to be far from easy for Palace to find an equaliser. Interesting to see where Ward and Kelly line up 2nd half, Kelly taking over at LB after Souare left but they usually play with Ward on the left when they're both on. Pardew may change things a bit up front too, there's little space to exploit and we might see Gayle on for ??? maybe Zaha? Puncheon the stand-out player for me in the first half. The Eagles haven't really flown yet but we're still 6-3 up on chances so far.

1up - 2 up - 3 up - 4 up...we've been quite fluid. Most of the half it's been 4-2-2-1-1 for want of a better description but a fair amount of position swapping particularly from Puncheon and Zaha and our usual 4-5-1 when they've possession in our half.
