Even last season I thought it was too much for him to be starting for the England senior squad. He wasn't ready as the pressure is massive at that level. He's level is U21s at the moment. I think a player would have to show absolute expectational ability in order to get into the 1st team at a very young age and I wouldn't rule it out if they had that ability but Barkley hasn't...yet.

There was a lot of expectancy on Ross this season and no doubt it's had an effect on him. It's seemed to of simmered down a bit now, so hopefully we can get the best out of him.

He has been given a starting place yet again in tonight's match, and also called up for England, so I'm starting to wonder if maybe we are wrong and he has been fantastic all season. Can we all be wrong and have imagined everything?
