Ill admit I love the guy so am unashamedly biased when it comes to talking about Barkley, lets have it right,he hasnt had a great season, not helped by injuries and being played out of position,it was such a sight for sore eyes to see Ross playing with the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders last night,I thought he and obviously Lukaku were the stand out performers, but in full flight is there another player quite like Ross Barkley,I think he is a totally unique footballer and I hope now we can see the very best of him as we look to end the season as positively as possible.
Its great to be buzzing about the blues again, this feeling simply has to be repeated on Sunday..COME ON YOU BLUES!!

Barkley has far too much expectation on him, and I wish Roberto would stop telling the world he is going to be the greatest ever England player etc, and treat him more like Luke Garbutt and any other young player.
It's not Ross's job to lead Everton, or save Everton, or make Everton magnificent again. His job is to ease himself into the team, with the expectancy that every other player in that team is pulling their weight, and too many times this season we've not played very well as a team.
For me, Ross is still a baby, and so is John Stones, and they must be protected and allowed to grow into their role with the team.
Europa League is a great way for fans to find that feel good factor again, but it must be said that the teams are not of the same standard as the Premier League, and although it will give us confidence, we must find a way to play well in the Prem, and find it quickly.

Totally agree, the senior players for me have let us down this season in the league,Baines,Coleman amongst others have been well below par but escaped criticism whereas Barkley has bore the brunt, yes Young Boys are not as good as sides in the premier league but they did have a formiddable home record which included facing english sides. We deserve immense creidt for adapting to the pitch and the mentality was certainly changed form the pervious four games, there was enough to suggest we have the desired quality to pull away from trouble, but lets be honest, the league campaign has been apalling, all we can hope now is that we do enough to get ourselves comfortable and try and win Europa which has brought out the best in us

If he tries to change the whole style of the team too quickly it will start to have too many thinkers and you don't have time for that in the PL. You have to be instinctive and you can't be instinctive if you have to stop and think, and Barkley is having to do that a lot. The players are doing what Martinez tells them to. You can see this most of all when we get the ball up field and instead of shooting they are tring to still pass it and be too clever.
