Ross Barkley has said he will assess his options in Jan. That to me says he is leaving for free. Most efc are still hoping he is staying, why, The contract is on table, if he wanted to stay he would not have to assess anything in July. I for one do not want him to leave, but I am also not deluded. He has forgotten what the club have done for him since he was a kid, the club he said he loves is now losing out and get nothing for time invested in him. People defending him, he is making efc look stupid and them same people still will defend him. He can not handle a strong minded manager who knows how to get the best out of him. Martinez blew smoke up his arse for the years he was here. I hope koeman says sign now or train on your own away from everyone else for the last year. Lad, what about the concept that Ronald Koeman has told him he isn't part of his plans? What about the concept that Ross doesn't want to leave the club, but is being told he has to? What about the concept that if he is being forced out, he's decided to leave on his own terms, not Koeman's? Don't you find it unusual that Moshiri was so quick to appear out of thin air, to talk about Ross not signing for Chelsea, before anybody else could? Have you seen the contract that they offered Ross? ged he is gone and using is to get fit not koeman or moshiri fault. He is using our club. Moshiri was defending his club and what about Ross and his agents taking efc for a ride. Seems some fans like us being mugged off. If he stays sign contract and get head down. What's to assess. Some fans put player before club

Tottenham are expected to bid for Ross Barkley during the January transfer window in four months’ time.
Barkley rejected the chance to sign a new contract at Goodison Park and with his contract set to expire next summer, the Toffees will be aiming to sell him in January as it will be their final opportunity to cash in on a sale.
The 23-year-old Barkley was reportedly on the verge of joining reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea, though he is said to have turned down a move on transfer deadline day.
The England international’s first choice was to link up with Spurs this summer, however the North London club’s chairperson Daniel Levy was hesitant to make a move now as he knows that he can purchase the player for a cheaper fee if his side make a bid in January.
Spurs are likely to continue monitoring Barkley and could end up landing him for a fee of around only £10 million.

The club had no intention of signing another striker, which showed me they have no ambition.

Joey Barton has claimed that Ross Barkley’s move to Chelsea broke down because Blues boss Antonio Conte went silent when the 23-year-old asked him what role he would have with the club.
As Barkley has just a year remaining on his current contract and turned down the opportunity to sign a new deal, the Toffees were looking to offload him and accepted a £35 million bid from Chelsea.
The player however decided against the move at the last minute and will remain with the Merseyside club until January.
Barton has now claimed that Barkley wished to move to Stamford Bridge but that the move broke down after Conte went silent on him. Speaking on TalkSport, he said, “Conte turned his phone off and Barkley’s representatives were trying to contact him.
“He wanted to say ‘look, where am I going to play’, and Conte turned his phone off. That is why Barkley got cold feet and never signed.
“He thought, ‘well, if the manager isn’t answering the phone to me he clearly doesn’t want me’, and that is why he went back to Everton.”
Tottenham are now the favorites and could end up landing the England international for a bargain price of £10 million in January.

I can't believe a word Joey Barton utters out of his mouth. The man's an imbecile.
