Tear gas was fired after fans threw rocks at police outside the Africa Cup of Nations game between the hosts Equatorial Guinea and Burkina Faso in Bata on Wednesday. Hundreds of fans were involved in the disturbance, which happened just as the goalless draw was kicking off and while supporters were still trying to get into the game to watch the home team play at Estadio de Bata. There is only one entrance to the Bata Stadium complex. Some supporters reportedly did not have tickets. Fans have been frustrated by delays getting into other venues. Riot police and fans also scuffled before the first games in Ebebiyín on Sunday.
