Can't argue with that but they had far too many shots for me to be 100% happy. The result is good and we took our chances but are we doing enough in midfield with 2 up top? Howard had a lot to do tonight despite the victory and although it was a smart freekick at the end you have to say we had it coming and rode our luck a lot. Some nights go for you but we can help ourselves too. At 3 up we could have put Gibbo on to strengthen things up. They look a good team and will take points off the others with a bit of luck.

If we can play sloppy, with a defense that sometimes keeps the ball too long against a half decent German side and still win 4 1 Happy days indeed!!

If you tell somebody you are going to pay nearly 30 million for a young striker, and then say you are going to add one of the worlds most experienced players to reach him the ropes it makes it easier, but Etoo isn't just to mentor players. He's here to win his place and play.

The view from Croydon: 4-1...a bit flattering given Wolfsburg had more shots and some solid possession.Took your chances well and rode your luck at times. Still, congratulations on such a positive return to Europe and very happy to see that Martinez put such a strong side out tonight. I don't expect to see such a strong line-up against Palace on Sunday, especially given EFC's upcoming fixtures. Thoroughly enjoyed the game last season and hoping to win by the odd goal again this time round, although I think Martinez won't let your lads forget what we did to you (or Liverpool for that matter). Here's to a good game and may the best team win.
