Junior Blues a credit to the club’s name It was heartening as ever to see the enthusiasm with which Everton’s first team engage with the club’s community efforts this week. Bryan Oviedo went out of his way to try and spread some cheer to the children on Alder Hey’s physiotherapy ward during a visit on Tuesday, underlining his genuine affection for the fans who have stood by his side during his lengthy injury lay-off. But even more encouraging was the way U-21s players Matthew Pennington and Ben McLaughlin also dived head first into the meet and greet. It would be easy for the teenagers to stand nervously on the periphery and let the more senior personalties such as Oviedo and Graham Stuart, who was also great with the kids, do their stuff. But instead Matthew and Ben joined in countless PS4 games of Fifa, chatted about football and generally acted like young men who will do the club proud as they progress. Source: Echo
