The problem we have is the 'seen to be doing the right thing' scenario, that is nothing to do with fans, but to do with public expectancy at upper crust level. If the club want the players to wear bands, that's ok with me, as long as they don't tell the fans to get involved. I don't like 'organised' mourning, nor do I like a minutes silence / applause, as fans are basically 'told' to respond, and then become frowned upon if they choose not to do so. There is nothing to stop a fan paying respects to anything they wish in their own time, but fans don't belong to the club to manipulate as they feel fit, which is often what happens now inside grounds across the land. I personally have no reason to mourn Richard Attenborough, but Bill probably knew him well, so fair enough. I thought his wildlife programmes were ace though.
