Everton are five-time winners of the FA Cup but have only been in the final once since their 1994/95 triumph over Manchester United. A large factor in that is due to the Toffees’ horror record playing games in the competition in London, with the capital’s Wembley venue playing host to the semi-finals and final each season. Everton have failed to secure a single non-penalty shootout victory in their last 12 FA Cup trips to London, losing eight of their visits. Three of their remaining four draws did ultimately lead to success, with two shootout wins and a result in a replay with Millwall in 2006. However, not since Phil Neville hit the winning spot-kick at Stamford Bridge 13 years ago have Everton won in any FA Cup capacity in London. Boss Dyche can take solace from having beaten Palace away already this season, following a 3-2 Premier League victory in November. But the last time they won two away games against an opponent in the same season was at West Ham in the 2007-08 campaign. Everton are winless in their last 12 FA Cup games in London (D4 L8), since beating Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley Stadium in the 1995 final. Everton have lost seven of their last nine FA Cup games against fellow Premier League sides (W2), losing all four away from home in this run. Crystal Palace have lost three of their last four FA Cup third round matches, with the exception coming in 2021-22 when they reached the semi-final. Everton have already won away against Crystal Palace this season, beating them 3-2 in the Premier League. The last time they won two away games against an opponent in the same season was at West Ham in 2007-08. Crystal Palace have progressed from just two of their six FA Cup ties against Everton, though did win the most recent such encounter 4-0 in March 2022. talksport.com/

Seen a few bizarrely saying we should play a weakened team. Don't Agree with this but likes of Danjuma, Beto and Chermiti need more minutes. Mcneil especially looks goosed, hoping Douc is back for this

Sean Dyche says he faces a number of "touch-and-go" decisions ahead of selecting his Everton side for the FA Cup third round clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The Blues head to the capital on Thursday evening (8pm GMT kick-off), looking to progress in the competition, having already secured a 3-2 away win at Palace in the Premier League earlier this campaign.
Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has missed the past four games with a hamstring issue after being replaced at half-time of Everton's 2-0 victory at Burnley last month, has "just about" resumed training but is one of the individuals facing a late call on his availability.
"These are the decisions that will be made," said Dyche. "There are people who are touch-and-go, then [it's a case of] do you play them or do you not, as you can imagine. We hope to have a couple back in with the idea of playing or certainly being in the squad."
Ashley Young has resumed work on the grass but remains with the Club's medical department and will be unavailable for the game against Palace as he continues his rehabilitation from an issue sustained during last month's home triumph over Chelsea.
Idrissa Gana Gueye, meanwhile, continues his recovery from a calf injury but is likely to be called up by Senegal for this month's Africa Cup of Nations.
"He probably will," said Dyche, when asked if Gana would take part in the international tournament. "He's still here at the moment receiving treatment but if that treatment comes to an end which it probably will do over the weekend or early next week, then [Senegal's] power is to call him up."
On Dele, who earlier this week confirmed he has suffered a setback in his recovery, Dyche continued: "Dele has been assessed. He has got an injury that still needs time - it did do anyway. We've been trying to take the heat away from that to allow him time but, of course, it's fair that people are asking the question."
Finally, asked about the necessity of handing rests to certain players following a hectic December schedule, Dyche explained it will be in his mind but fielding a team to win against Roy Hodgson's side will remain his top priority.
"I've made it clear that we want to win every game," he added. "We want to put a team out that can win every game. There are certain parts of the team that have been very successful with the way they're playing as individuals and as a collective. We want to put out a side that I believe can win - that's our mentality and our view point."
