Spotify billionaire owner teams up with three Invincibles

Arsenal fans recently took to the Emirates Stadium to protest against their American owner Stan Kroenke, demanding that the highly-unpopular figure leave the Gunners and sell the club. Could the north London giants' savior have arrived?

During the "Kroenke Out" protest, Spotify owner Daniel Ek threw his hat into the ring, taking to Twitter to publicly declare his desire to buy the Europa League semi-finalists from the current owner. The Swedish billionaire professed his love for the Premier League side, admitting to being a fan since childhood, hence his desire to take over.

Now, according to the Telegraph, the Spotify founder has joined up with three Arsenal legends in a bid to take his plan to the next step. Those icons are none other than Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp, three members of Arsene Wenger's famous Invincibles side.

Should the Swedish entrepreneur seize ownership at the Emirates Stadium, the two Frenchman and the Dutch magician would return to the England capital in a working capacity. It remains unknown what role they would have should everything go to plan but what is clear is that those three names will undoubtedly win support from the fans.

Henry, who became one of the first two played inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, recently spoke with talkSPORT and criticized the Kroenkes for their poor leadership. The Frenchman joins a growing list of former legends to speak out against the American owners, with Arsenal's previous all-time top scorer Ian Wright tweeting "Kroenke Out" in response to their role in the European Super League.

In a recent fan forum, Josh Kroenke, the son of the 73-year-old owner, stated that they have no intention of selling but KSE are reportedly said to be open to offers worth roughly $2.8 billion. According to ITV, Ek is preparing a bid worth $2.5 billion, which, if true, might tempt the current holders.

Despite all of this, Arsenal chiefs are said to be unconvinced by Ek's push as he is yet to establish official communication. Furthermore, the Swede is worth around $4.7BN, with some believing he is unlikely to raise the necessary funds and has thus turned to the three aforementioned club legends as a stunt.
