Seconds after taking to the field to mark his first appearance in a Toffees shirt since signing from Ferencvaros in a £4million deal, the 21-year-old produced three pieces of sublime skill before the PA even had a chance to finish reading the Bosnian’s name. A couple of neat drag-backs when surrounded by opposition was topped off with a raking crossfield ball 50-yards up field which fell perfectly to its intended target, leaving Everton fans already hopeful that Roberto Martinez has unearthed the next big thing in European football.
