This is old news, but I thought I'd post it anyway seeing as I missed it when it was fresh, and nobody else bothered. Seven members of Everton's 2013/14 Academy League winning side have signed their first professional contracts with the Club. The seven players to commit from Kevin Sheedy's side - victors over Manchester City in May's Under-18 championship final - are goalkeeper Russell Griffiths (aged 18), defenders Jonjoe Kenny (17), Curtis Langton and Gethin Jones (both 18), midfielders Joe Williams and Harry Charsley and forward Calum Dyson (all 17). Kenny, a European Championship winner with England Under-17s earlier this summer, and fellow Liverpudlian Williams have both signed three-year deals, keeping them at Goodison Park until at least the end of the 2016/17 campaign. Griffiths, Charsley and Dyson have agreed terms for two years, while Jones and Langton have penned one-year deals. Meanwhile, 18-year-old striker Sam Byrne has arrived at Finch Farm on a free transfer having left Manchester United's academy in May after three years. A Republic of Ireland Under-19 international with seven goals in 10 outings, the Dublin-born striker also spent 13 games on loan at League One Carlisle United last season, scoring once.
