Everton Women take time out for Everton In The Community

Less than 48 hours after maintaining their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 home victory over Bristol City, Everton's players took time out from training on Tuesday to meet staff and participants of Everton in the Community projects taking place around Liverpool.

Chloe Kelly, whose double against Bristol included a 30-yard wonder strike, was joined by team mates Elise Hughes, Kirstie Levell and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah as they met participants from the charity's Knowsley Veterans' Hub programme during an organised weekly kickabout at The People's Hub facility near Goodison Park.

At the same time, Dutch World Cup finalists Inessa Kaagman and Kika Van Es were across the city at Nuffield Health on Riverside Drive offering their support at a gym session for women who are supported by the charity's mental health initiative Girls On Side, along with England youth international Molly Pike.

And Academy graduate Faye Bryson introduced new team mates Lucy Graham and Maeva Clemaron to the work of Everton in the Community by taking them to help coaches at a training session for the charity's U13 pan-disability team at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College on Long Lane.

Knowsley Veterans' Hub supports ex-service personnel who are at risk of isolation, offering a range of engagement tools and support, as well as helping them improve their skills, find employment and reduce their likelihood of ill health.

Girls On Side, meanwhile, supports women with mental health problems and offers them a wide range of activities, including fitness sessions, business education, cookery classes and arts and crafts, as well as valuable social time with like-minded women.

Everton's pan-disability team trains once a week and competes in regular fixtures at the weekend, giving the players the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers.
