Everton will hope a new television deal will help grow their profile in a "very important market". The Premier League have announced an agreement that will see one game shown free-to-air in sub Saharan African each week. Everton are hoping to expand their fan-base in East Africa on the back of the club's sponsorship deal with SportPesa and will play a pre-season friendly in Kenya in July. The Blues played a warm-up game in Tanzania in 2017 and board member Sasha Ryazantsev says that part of the continent is a target market for the club. And Everton will now hope they are selected for as many of the free-to-air games as possible to increase their exposure in East Africa. "For fans in over 40 countries across the region, this agreement will allow one free-to-air match to be broadcast live every Saturday, as well as weekly preview, magazine and highlights programmes," Paul Molnar, the Premier League's Director of Broadcasting said. "These rights are important in ensuring the widest possible access to our competition for the many passionate Premier League fans across Africa." www.liverpoolecho.co.uk

I like the fact we're embracing Africa, but not keen that we have a betting company as our sponsors if I'm honest.
