Emma Brownlie says the chance to work with Willie Kirk and Chris Roberts again was a key factor in her decision to join Everton Ladies. The Blue Girls beat the transfer deadline to land the 25-year-old Scottish full-back from Hibernian. It was at the Edinburgh club that Brownlie first experienced working under current Toffees boss Kirk and assistant Roberts. And she is delighted to have the opportunity to reunite with the pair at a “massive club” like Everton. “I have worked with Willie and Chris before and that was a big thing in making my decision,” said Brownlie. “They were my first management team as such when I moved into women’s football north of the border. Having worked with them before, it makes the move that bit easier coming down here. “Everyone knows Everton because it is a massive club. I am delighted to get in and get the move over the line. I am really looking forward to getting started at Everton. “I spoke to Willie back in December and that was when I first got a sniff that they were interested. It has been toing and froing since then but it is good to get the deal over the line.” Brownlie, a former Scotland Under-19s international, is set to train with her new teammates for the first time on Friday at USM Finch Farm. She could make her debut in the FA Cup tie at Southport against Chelsea on February 3 and has set her sights on helping the Toffees move away from the wrong end of the WSL table. “I am looking forward to meeting the girls,” Brownlie added. “I was down just after Christmas but never got the chance to meet them. So I am looking forward to getting into training tomorrow. “Now it is about pushing up the league. We have eight games to go so it is all about getting points on the table." Everton FC
