Liverpool Ladies 1 Everton Ladies 1Liverpool slipped a place to sixth in Women's Super League One after being held to a draw by Everton in the Merseyside derby at Prenton Park. The Reds had most of the pressure in the first half and Laura Coombs fired against the post before Gemma Bonner had a header pushed onto the woodwork. Coombs eventually put them in front with a shot from outside the box. But, after Alex Greenwood had a second disallowed for a foul, sub Jodie Brett levelled for Everton from close range. The away side could have won it when Danielle Turner squared the ball to Chloe Kelly, who was just too high with a header from Everton's only serious first-half opportunity, but she shot wide. The draw, though, earned them only their second point in five games, and was reward for a resolute effort, typified by Faye Bryson throwing herself in the way of a Caroline Weir effort before the interval. Liverpool wasted a late chance to snatch the win when Ali Johnson's effort rolled across the face of goal after Alex Greenwood picked her out at the back post.
