Everton in the Community can now reveal The Fallows as the overall ‘Battle of the Bands’ winner.
The four-piece, indie rock ‘n’ roll band, who hail from the North West, defeated fellow local acts History, Matty and the New Haze, earning the most retweets off the Goodison faithful in a 24-hour social-media vote.
The band, who are set to release their first album this year, will now represent the charity at the Liverpool BT Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon, playing on the main stage located at the start/finish line by the city’s Echo Arena on Sunday 25 May.
The other acts will now line up on Goodison’s Fan Zone stage, which will be outside Everton’s headquarters on race-day at the event’s five-mile point, and will be joined by local singing starlet and Toffees favourite Jennifer Jewel in what promises to be a 26.2 mile musical medley.
“We were absolutely made up to have been selected to go through to the final four so to win the competition is brilliant and thanks to everyone who voted for us,” said lead guitarist Mike Mullard. “I’m an Evertonian so playing with The Farm at the Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon doesn’t get any better than that.”
Everton in the Community still has a limited number of race spaces remaining and supporters can apply to join the charity's team by contacting Amy Judge via email at amy.judge@evertonfc.com
Goodison Park will be one of the many iconic city landmarks along the route of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon, which is being held in partnership with the Club’s official charity.
Each runner – be it for the full or half-marathon – will receive a fundraising pack and a blue Everton in the Community running vest.
