Walsh Nominated For Player Of The SeasonYoung midfielder shortlisted for Premier League 2 award Everton Under-23s midfielder Liam Walsh has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award. The 19-year-old was a regular for David Unsworth’s side, who were last month crowned inaugural Premier League 2 champions. Walsh, who grew up in Huyton, was a consistent performer in the heart of midfield for the young Blues and chipped in with six goals, including a well-taken strike in a 2-0 victory over Southampton at Goodison Park in front of a near 6,000 crowd. He was also recognised earlier in the campaign, picking up the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for February. At that time, coach Unsworth commended his attitude both on the pitch and in the Under-23s dressing room. Walsh is joined on the Player of the Season shortlist, which has been based on the total number of nominations for the best individual performances from opposing Premier League 2 managers throughout the campaign, alongside 10 other candidates (listed below). Mason Mount, Chelsea Liam Walsh, Everton Axel Tuanzebe, Manchester United Todd Cantwell, Norwich City Josh Sims, Southampton Joel Asoro, Sunderland Oliver McBurnie, Swansea City Domingos Quina, West Ham United Marcus Browne, West Ham United Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool Ben Woodburn, Liverpool
