Confidence Flowing For Everton LadiesClaudia Walker believes her team are fully prepared ahead of their FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Durham. Everton earned their spot in this stage of the competition with an 8-1 win against Brighouse Town, in which Walker scored a hat-trick against the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division side. “We’ve had a good week of training and we’re all ready for the game,” she said. “It will be more of a challenge than the last game (against Brighouse Town) but we’re all up for it and hopefully we can put in a good performance to win the game.” The Blue Girls come into the tie on the back of two consecutive victories, with a 2-1 success over Oxford United in the first game of the Spring Series backing up their FA Cup win. “Everyone knows how big the cup is and we’re still on a high from the last round, so we’ll be confident going into the game,” Walker said. “We had just one friendly before the FA Cup game so it was good to get on a winning streak to give us confidence on the pitch.” Andy Spence’s side will travel to the North East on Saturday ahead of the match at New Ferens Park. Although the Blue Girls are yet to play a home fixture, Walker sees the benefits of their matches on the road. “The away games have helped the new players bed into the team as well as strengthening the bonds between the other players,” she said. “It’s good to have away games but I can’t wait for our next home game to have our fans behind us.” Everton FC
