www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26135701Gareth Barry: Everton to discuss midfielder's future in the summer Everton manager Roberto Martinez says discussions about midfielder Gareth Barry's long-term future will not take place until the summer. Barry, 32, is on a season-long loan from Manchester City and is out of contract at the end of the campaign. Arsenal have already been linked with the England international. "I still think he is the best English player in his position," said Martinez, who concedes Barry could have other suitors by the summer. "There will be other options, something I will always be aware of," added the Spaniard. "He is in a position where he can choose where his football happiness is going to be." Barry has made 20 Premier League appearances for Everton this season, helping keep them in contention for a top-five finish. The England international has not featured for his country since a friendly match against Norway during the build-up to Euro 2012, but is hopeful of earning a recall for the World Cup in Brazil this summer. "The only thing he is focused on now is playing every game and playing as well as he can," said Martinez. "It is a joy to have him here."

Can see him joining someone else to be honest, his performance this season will have alerted other clubs and he is on a high wage

At 32 he isn't going to get a big contract no matter where he goes and when clubs only want you because you are free it says a lot about your prospects. He'd be better off staying here but I'd rather we had a younger option and when Gibson is fit can we afford to have the luxury of both?
