Yannick Bolasie helps save Hillingdon Borough after struggling non-League side almost pulled out of division... as it's revealed they paid him in burgers!Hillingdon, who play in the Spartan South Midlands Division One, had to pull out of their divisionThe Everton winger stepped in to save the club after hearing of their struggles Yannick Bolasie's route to the Premier League saw him work his way up the leagues from humble beginnings at Hillingdon Borough — and he hasn't forgotten his roots. The non-League side, who play in the Spartan South Midlands Division One, threatened to pull out of their league on Tuesday due to their off-the-field troubles. In messages posted on Twitter, the club wrote: 'I can confirm that Hillingdon borough have pulled out of the division with immediate effect. Local clubs can fill your boots. 'A sad sad day to see a historic club pull out of football. But when your hands are tied and you're being treated this way, it's all we can do.' But Everton's star, who is currently out injured after rupturing his cruciate ligament, has opted to show his appreciation by helping save the Middlesex-based outfit. It's unclear what the gesture was, though the club later tweeted: 'Huge thanks to Yannick Bolasie for helping this historic club.' Speaking to the Mirror, chairwoman Dee Dhand said: 'When Bolasie heard the news he got in contact to offer us his moral support. 'He's always thinking of us and has a lot of respect for the club. He wanted to find out what was happening and how he could help. 'But it's not a financial issue. We own our ground and generate funds from hiring our facilities. 'We just feel there's a lack of support for the club and non-League football in general.' As a youngster Bolasie played for Hillingdon Borough, where he received a free burger for every goal he scored after the club couldn't afford to pay him. Dhand added: 'I wanted to sign him for £20-a-week, but others didn't agree. 'I ended up giving him a burger for every goal. He once scored eight, so he shared them with his team-mates.' Bolasie joined the Toffees in a deal worth up to £30million last summer after two impressive seasons in the top-flight with Crystal Palace.
