Agent has now been working for 4 days to get player to Everton, full run-down of situationBy Sport Witness Team - 14th January 2017Belfodil: Everton’s mini transfer saga Ishak Belfodil’s transfer to Everton is already turning into something of a mini saga. So much contradictory stuff has been claimed in the Belgian media that it’s becoming clear the deal isn’t as straightforward as, say, Morgan Schneiderlin’s transfer to Everton. On January 7th Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported both Everton and West Brom were keen on the player. Standard Liege were said to value Belfodil at €15m, something the forward found ‘outrageous’ considering they signed him for free in the summer. Het Nieuwsblad said Standard ‘privately realise they can’t refuse an offer of around €10m for him.’ On January 10th, Standard’s director of sport Olivier Renard, appeared to rule out a move. Responding to reports both Ronald Koeman and Tony Pulis were interested, Renard said: “There’s a lot of interest, but he isn’t looking to force an exit. In fact, there’s a 100% chance of him staying… since he’s already here. We want to keep our best players for as long as possible, but if Manchester United come knocking…” January 11th brought a big change and DH reported an accepted €12m Everton offer, with the club offering Belfodil a four and a half year deal. It was explained the player could leave Standard’s training on Thursday, travel for a medical, and be announced an Everton player. Also on January 11th came an intriguing claim from Belgium’s RTL that Everton were paying only €4m with Belfodil ‘taking a percentage in order to never reveal the true amount of the transfer’. The following day Orlando Sa, Belfodil’s teammate, told fans taking photographs with the player at training: “Enjoy it, these are the last ones you will be able to take with him.” On Friday the 13th DH reported that the reason a transfer hadn’t been concluded was: ‘intermediaries trying to involve themselves in the Everton deal when they shouldn’t.’ There was still confidence a deal can be done soon. Today, Saturday January 14th, Belgium’s HLN claim it’s actually Everton holding the deal up, not entirely sure they want the player. However, Belfodil’s agent is said to still be confident that a transfer will happen. It’s pointed out the player’s agent has now been at Standard’s Marbella training camp for four days, trying to get the deal over the line.

How can they not reveal the true cost of a transfer?
Surely the FA and the tax man would get to know, and then there's the case of fair play.

Is he worth the hassle? I mean surely there are other better options out there?

Ishak Belfodil flies alone to ParisAfter 45 minutes in friendly against Dortmund on Thursday, Ishak Belfodil still saw life in Rouche: scrubbing Friday morning and then spectator of the friendly match lost by Standard against Vaduz (4-3). Last of the championship of Switzerland. This Friday 13 has not finally been synonymous with a jackpot for the Standard to the extent that the negotiations continue with Everton, without having yet found a global agreement between all the parties. At his press conference on Friday to discuss Manchester City, Toffees coach Ronald Koeman did not really bring any clarification. "We want to strengthen ourselves with one or two players ," he answered a question about Belfodil. " But look at Schneiderlin's case. We had been in contact for a long time and you see that it took some time. And then we can wait until the end of January. " Still, far from a departure for England that some waited already Thursday, the attacker had to take the plane this Saturday with the rest of the delegation to return to Liège, where it had to continue the continuation Of the saga of his transfer to the Premier League. But change of plan, the attacker flew alone towards ... Paris, as proves a photo captured by Bruno Fahy, photographer of the Belga agency at the airport of Malaga. Not to worry though, the player is not going to put a rabbit in Everton and negotiate elsewhere! It turns out, according to our information, that the attacker was flying to the French capital for personal reasons. The Liège players also received two days off on Sunday and Monday to recover from a training session that was very intense. Translated from Sudinfo.be

Is he worth the hassle? I mean surely there are other better options out there? It all sounds like another dodgy deal. A player they got for free in the summer, being sold for £?? , reports that it's a totally different price, and then rumours the player is taking a cut to keep his mouth shut? What's the chances of this lad being a big hit in the Prem?
