So for interest, I decided to see what would happen if I replied, so I embarked on a series of emails.
Note that I never once offer an item number, or sales id, or anything that identifies the listing to the scammer.
To them, it doesn't matter, as they've sent out thousands of phishing texts, and they're only concerned with what happens at the payment end.
So, I create a blag Gmail account, and pretend my name is John, selling a bike, and I write the following mail as instructed, to their email address:

I then receive what I presume is an automated email reply, from a scammer pretending to be called Lindy, who has a profile photo of an old grey haired lady: Notice they don't have a clue what the item is, or how much it is.

Another automated email arrives within a minute. They must be incredibly quick at typing:
