Stoke City are considering making a move for the out of work Steve Bruce should they sack current boss Mark Hughes, report the Daily Express.
The Potters have endured a winless start to the Premier League campaign, sitting one point off the bottom of the league.
Still, the Welsh tactician has helped the club transcend from the unfashionable outfit they were under Tony Pulis, creating a new and expansive style of play at the Bet 365 Stadium.
In each of his three seasons in charge, the 52-year-old has guided the club to a ninth-placed finish.
However, the report claims Bruce could be contacted should the former Manchester City boss fail to stop the rot.
Having left Hull City under a cloud before the start of the campaign, the ex-Manchester United captain is out of work.
Though not the most illustrious of names, Bruce has a strong reputation after solid spells in charge of Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham.

The Express know nothing about football. Every rumour I ever read from them was a crock of crap. If Hughes is under pressure after 5 games then Stoke aren't the club I thought.
