EVERTON PAIR RECEIVE ENGLAND UNDER-19 CALLS
Everton pair Thierry Small and Reece Welch are included in an England Under-19 squad that will gather for a five-day St George’s Park training camp this month.
Defender Small became Everton’s youngest player when, aged 16 years and 176 days, he came off the bench in January’s FA Cup fourth-round victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
Small was a regular for David Unsworth’s Under-23 team in the second half of the campaign, starting 12 games and scoring three goals.
Centre-half Welch has represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels and featured in manager Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton matchday squad for last month’s games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manager Ian Foster is assembling his England Under-19 squad on Sunday to begin preparations for the qualification stages for the 2022 Under-19 European Championship in Slovakia.
This summer’s edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
England Under-19s, who play group hosts Sweden, Switzerland and Andorra in October in the first qualifying round for next year’s tournament, will remain at the national football centre until Thursday.

England name provisional Euro 2020 squad: Ben White, Ben Godfrey, Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone in.
Uncapped Ben White, Ben Godfrey, Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale have been named in England's 33-man provisional Euro 2020 squad, while Trent Alexander-Arnold also makes the cut.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is also named, but Leeds' Patrick Bamford misses out.
Gareth Southgate will name his final 26-man squad on Tuesday, 1 June.
Leicester's James Maddison, Tottenham's Eric Dier and injured Burnley keeper Nick Pope are left out.
One of the major talking points had been about Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold, who was left out of Southgate's last squad in March.
With Atletico Madrid's La Liga winner Kieran Trippier, Manchester City's Premier League champion Kyle Walker and Chelsea's Reece James also in the squad, one of them is likely to miss out.
Goalkeepers Ramsdale, of Sheffield United, and West Brom's Johnstone, plus centre-backs Godfrey of Everton and Brighton's White, are all hoping to win a first cap, if they make the final cut next week.
There are three teenagers included - Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who are both 19.
England face Croatia (Sunday, 13 June - 14:00 BST), Scotland (Friday, 18 June - 20:00) and the Czech Republic (Tuesday, 22 June - 20:00) in Group D with all those games at Wembley.
England's provisional 33-man squad in full Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Man Utd), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordon Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Sheff Utd)
Defenders: John Stones (Man City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Man City), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Reece James (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Ben Godfrey (Everton), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Ben White (Brighton)
Midfielders: Mason Mount (Chelsea), Declan Rice (West Ham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Raheem Sterling (Man City), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Mason Greenwood (Man Utd), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)

GODFREY MAKES ENGLAND DEBUT
Everton centre-back Ben Godfrey made his senior England debut as the Three Lions beat Austria 1-0 in a European Championship warm-up match on Wednesday night.
Godfrey was introduced as a 62nd-minute substitute alongside Everton teammate Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium.
Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford played the 90 minutes in a contest settled by Bukayo Saka’s close-range strike early in the second half.
Godfrey’s maiden senior England appearance caps an exceptional season for the 23-year-old.
Having joined Everton from Norwich City on transfer deadline day last October, Godfrey’s exemplary defensive performances saw him quickly establish himself as a First-Team regular. He played 39 matches for the Toffees across all competitions and his consistently polished displays saw him win the Club’s Young Player of the Season award.
In playing the final 28 minutes on his England bow, he helped Gareth Southgate’s team record a clean sheet and see out a narrow victory.
Goalkeeper Pickford – winning his 31st cap – performed with the confidence and authority which has underpinned his fine Everton form in recent months.
His standout moment came when he made a stunning save to tip Marcel Sabitzer’s drive on to the crossbar shortly after Saka’s 56th-minute opener, while his distribution and command of his penalty area impressed throughout.
Calvert-Lewin, Everton’s Player and Players’ Player of the Season, was unable to add to the four goals he has already struck for his country as Austria enjoyed the majority of possession in the game’s latter stages.
The powerful frontman still offered an important presence in leading the England line and was unfortunate to see a fizzing 78th-minute cross flash across the area and fractions beyond strike partner Ollie Watkins.
England’s final warm-up match before their tournament opener against Croatia on 13 June comes on Sunday when Romania visit Riverside Stadium.
Everton left-back Lucas Digne, meanwhile, played the second half as France beat Wales 3-0 in an international friendly in Paris.
Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele got the goals for the World Cup holders.
Digne came close to bagging a fourth goal for France five minutes from time but saw his powerful effort hit the side-netting.
Wales’ task was made all the more difficult when defender Neco Williams was sent off midway through the first half.
France take on Bulgaria in their final warm-up game on Tuesday before kicking off their European Championship campaign against Germany on 15 June.
