League Two outfit Salford City have completed a surprising piece of transfer business despite the January transfer window closing last Friday.
The club, part-owned by numerous Manchester United legends, confirmed on Thursday that they had signed former Everton midfielder Darron Gibson The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Wigan Athletic at the end of the 2018-19 season and had been training with Salford to build up his fitness. Salford then swooped to offer a short-term deal to the former Everton midfielder, who spent five years at Goodison Park following his time with Manchester United.
