Darron Gibson is apparently not in Ronald Koeman's plans. Gibson's new two year deal was signed before Koeman joined Everton. Aston Villa are interested with Sunderland's Moyes having brought Gibson from Man Utd. Another possibility is Hull; their manager Mike Phelan coached Gibson at Man Utd. Gibson's wages could be a problem in any transfer and surely Everton would want a fee.

I think a lot depends on how many squad places we have available versus who we have an opportunity to sign.
I've not done the maths, on who's over 21, etc, but we must be close to our limit in terms of how many players we can sign.
Gibson is a tidy player when fit, so I'll be surprised if he gets shipped out because he's not good enough.

He's a decent player but is too ijury prone. We really should have shipped him out as he's eating up wages that could go to another signing.

Why give him another 2 years if we don't want him? Maybe it was just so we could sell him rather than let him go free, but Gibson could have joined any club as a free agent, so why would he sign?
