Blues will learn their opponents for Ronald Koeman's first tie in knockout competition
Ronald Koeman will find out his first cup opponents as Everton manager as the Blues await the draw for the second round of the EFL Cup – formerly the League Cup and most latterly the Capital One Cup. The draw takes place around 10pm on Wednesday, August 10, on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News HQ after Luton Town's first round game against Aston Villa has been concluded. Everton are one of the 13 Premier League clubs not competing in Europe this season who will enter the competition at this stage (the rest come in for the third round) and they will all be seeded alongside Newcastle United and Norwich City. The second round ties will take place on August 23/24 and the Blues potential opponents will come from one of the unseeded clubs which is expected to include the likes of other North West sides such as Accrington Stanley, Blackpool, Carlisle United, Oldham Athletic, Rochdale, Morecambe and Crewe Alexandra. Because of ground redevelopment work at Anfield, neighbours Liverpool have got special dispensation for their tie to be an away game regardless of what draw they are given. Everton got to the semi-finals of last season's competition, losing 4-3 on aggregate to Manchester City after overcoming Barnsley, Reading, Norwich City and Middlesbrough. By Chris Beesley / Echo

When did it change name? We should have won it last year if we're true to ourselves.

At home as well, so I expect to go through there without too much confusion. Have we played them before?
