A few thoughts on this matter: Everton have been shit for a long time while City are challenging. Guardiola is now their manager. Stones was told no last year and as a result of staying, hit poor form and lost his place in the England team, so we can't blame him for wanting a move.

Why let him go if we don't need the money? Cos basically if we don't and he wants to go , we will be in the same situation as we were with Lescott. If he doesn't want to play for us , why keep him? If we let our best players go why will other players want to join us. Can you imagiune how ***** we were last year, and then take our best players away, just how ***** we will then be?

Point taken , but if he doesn't want to play for us , is it a good thing to have an unhappy demotivated player in the dressing room? Look what happened when Lescott stayed. If they don't want to play for the shirt get rid The club is bigger than any player.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman met with Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain for transfer talks last week. The Dutchman, who took over from Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park this summer, faces the immediate blow of losing star defender John Stones to City. Everton boss holds personal talks in bid to sign Man City star in Stones swap Rumour Mill: our round-up of football gossip, rumours and speculation City are keen to sign the England international in a £50million deal, but Koeman hopes he can persuade the club to include striker Wilfried Bony as part of the move. Koeman knows Begiristain well due to their Barcelona connections, and is eager to improve his attacking options this summer, according to the Daily Mirror. Bony, 27, has not made the desired impact since moving to the Etihad Stadium, though he previously impressed in the Premier League with Swansea City and could be ideal for a side like Everton. Koeman’s desire to strengthen up front may be down to uncertainty over Romelu Lukaku’s future with the Toffees.
