According to French publication Le10 Sport, Everton are in the race to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Thomas Lemar.
The report states that the France international could depart La Liga this summer with Everton 'very interested' in landing him.
However, any deal hoping to be concluded could be complicated because of Atletico's demands.
They paid €70m (£63.2m) when they signed him from Monaco and it's implied that Diego Simeone's side want to recoup a decent chunk of that.
Consequently, Marcel Brands may have to pay a club-record fee in order to sign the 24-year-old. Their previous record was £45m for Gylfi Sigurdson.
