What makes me laugh are how the commentators are so cocky until England are losing then they start putting England down. The commentator saying how nobody had heard of the Iceland players and how England are losing to part-timers made me laugh. He was really rubbing it in. No matter who gets the job they'll have to fit the criteria of the FA, and there is where our problems start. The people choosing the manager, need to back off, and allow a manager to pick his own team, as I'm convinced that the papers and the pressure from above influence managers far too much. Our international programme is a farce too, as we spend time playing lots of pointless friendlies, experimenting with players, when players should earn their place playing for their clubs, and then play in the position they play in for those clubs. I used to be really up for England in tournaments, but it's been too long since I last got excited.

At least none of our Everton players were involved in that utter load of shite that passed for a football match last night John Stones and Ross Barkley must be on their knees thanking God at this very moment! It works the other way too, where they'll have regrets because they weren't allowed to make a difference. Hodgson is a nice guy but last night showed me he had no talent for the job.

Fair comments my friend and yes your're right, Roy Hodgson just was not right for the job and every time the camera was on him, it looked like he just did not want to be there. Judging by the speed he resigned, I think it speaks for itself.

Judging by the speed he resigned, I think it speaks for itself. I've never been an advocate of the typical English sentimentality of demanding satisfaction through resignations etc, as in my mind, what ever happens afterwards has no bearing on the actual events, and we're still out. Some feel better about it if Hodgson resigns, (his contract was up regardless) and maybe Rooney declares he's retiring, and so on, but I get no satisfaction from that, and the only thing I find frustrating, is that being a fan, you can't actually change anything at the time, such as give your opinion to the manager, or make a substitution, and instead you have to watch while others make a mess of it all. The same will happen again and again, because in my opinion, the problem starts with the pompous English attitude, that we are somehow better than others, and if we could be a bit more humble, and accept we aren't, we'd then be able to build a team that could play together, which is why Leicester winning the league was so satisfying.

I tend to possibly agree with you, however, let's not forget that the players, managers, F.A staff & frontmen etc are all getting paid a lot more money than any of us could possibly earn in our lifetime. The supporters spend a lot of their hard earned cash going over to see the 'England Team' play. So, to feel 'let down' by the games that England played should not go un-noticed. Many of those people have saved, taken early holidays; for what? Inept performances, bad and hard to understand changes to the team, and the unexplainable substitutions that took place, not only in last night's game, but throughout the previous three games.
