The other day, I looked down, and the cat food was moving. I looked closely, and it was full of maggots. She can be a lazy eater, where she'll eat straight away, or sometimes turn her nose up at just about everything, and our dog can be the same. Again today, it was hot, the windows were open, and the animals hadn't finished their food, and I turned round and saw about 8 flies on their dinner, so remembering the maggots, decided to check, and sure enough, they'd laid eggs all over the food, like tiny grains of rice. Here's a random pic: I don't know what would happen if the animals ate the food with the eggs on, but from now on, it's going to be a case of putting it in the fridge as soon as they stop eating.

Flies are annoying - especially when the zip gets stuck - can be quite embarrassing
