Today I was bitten several times ................... by an angry ninja Swan. It was like 2 shoe horns, no strength at all, but a serrated inner edge that broke the skin a bit. It had a go about 20 times, before jumping back into the river and joining it's young family. I reckon I'd win in a fight. Why did it bite you? Were you too near to its young?

We were one side of a fence at a restaurant, and the other side of the fence was a small tow path, then the river. The parents swam up to us with 4 cygnets, then the male climbed out to where I was leaning on the fence. It wasn't a full blown attack, and obviously I lent over the fence and allowed it to bite my hand just for the experience, which it did constantly for a few minutes. It can't hurt you bite wise, but if it pulls, then the serrated inner can scratch / break the skin. If a Swan wags it's tail at you, it's probably a sign of aggression.

Like when the missus wags her finger Ha ha yep, but not as scary. You know my missus as well - It is the silent treatment that gets me "shudders"
