New England kit unveiled for Euro 2016 Many football fans on Merseyside may claim to have little concern with the England national team. But for the English players of Liverpool and Everton, representing their country is kind of a big deal. And big deals require big gestures. And big kits. So both Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe have been roped in to help promote the new England kit which will be worn for Euro 2016. The home kit steers away from the traditional all-white home kit (well, traditional in the sense it's been all white for a few years but wasn't for many years before that) by having light blue sleeves and “bold” red socks. Apparently, the bright red socks, featuring a linear blue graphic on the calf, celebrate the look of the England team that famously triumphed over Brazil at the Maracana Stadium in 1984. That'll be a friendly against Brazil that was arranged because England had failed to qualify for that summer's European Championships. Yay! The red away kit, meanwhile, has crimson sleeves with blue socks, with the red strip in honour of the England 1966 World Cup winning team. When they wore fully red shirts, white shorts and red socks. They must think we're blind or something... Echo

I'd have to see it in person but it's not getting me excited by any stretch.
