In this era of increasing regulation around drinks advertising, we thought there might be some politician somewhere who would have dreamed up legislation stipulating that one couldn't name a beer after a known alcoholic. Clearly, it never entered anyone's head that such legislation might be necessary. Well, Nottingham's Castle Rock Brewery have given us the 'Brian Clough' beer, a drink which it transpires has been in existence for just under two years. Learning that such a product is in the world, courtesy of Tom Cullen, is truly mind-blowing Forest's legendarily tigerish defender Kenny Burns had no quibbles and said at the launch that Clough would have been delighted to have a beer named after him. Cloughie's final year as Nottingham Forest boss - in the first season of the new Premier League (1992-93) - was blighted by his increasing dependence on alcohol. Forest, who had survived easily in the top half of the table for much of the 1980s and into the early 1990s, plummeted dramatically down the table. In May 1992, they ended the season in 8th spot, a little lower than they had come accustomed to under Clough but still relatively decent In May 1993, they were not only relegated but finished bottom of the table. Thereafter, alcholoism took a greater hold. With doctors giving him less than a fortnight to live, Clough underwent a liver transplant in early 2003. He died of stomach cancer in late 2004.

Deliveroo and Heineken have partnered up to bring you…*drumroll* BREWHOUSE. Basically, a branch of the app that will provide you with alcoholic delights delivered straight to your outstretched hands.
In July this year, Deliveroo did add an alcohol feature to the app, bringing wines and Brewdog beers in to play. But, without ordering food, you couldn’t get a nice cold pint of lager or a refreshing cider delivered. With several competitors popping up everywhere such as UberEats and Hungry House, they are hoping it keeps them at the top of everyone’s list.
The Brewhouse menu thus far:
•Amstel Lager 650ml £3.50
•Birra Moretti Lager 660ml £3.50
•Bulmers Original Cider 500ml £3.00
•Heineken Lager Bottles 4x330ml £8.00
•Heineken Lager 650ml £3.50
•Kronenbourg 1664 Lager 660ml £3.50
•Old Mout Kiwi and Lime Cider 500ml £3.50
•Old Mout Passionfruit and Apple Cider 500ml £3.50
•Sol Lager 4X330ml £8.00
•Tiger Beer 640ml £3.50
